Job Description

Your duties will include:

• Produce the European monthly management report. The report consists of individual and consolidated P&L, balance sheets and cash-flow reports, and analysis reports including variances. It requires the inclusion of intelligent commentary for management.
• Prepare & present the European annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
• Prepare the annual group return for the group accounts.
• Prepare management reporting of subsidiary businesses units that look after, eg, shipping support and processing technologies.
• Manage late adjustments to reports and engineer a great relationship with the US head office.
• Improve the processes of the team so that they become fit-for-purpose.
Projects
• Deliver the replacement of our SAP accounts system in Spring 2012.
• Improve the efficiency of data extraction from the system and translation into our reports.
• Complete gap analysis of our financial controls & investigate and correct.
Management and Supervision
• Manage the team of four part- and fully-qualified accountants.
• Be a member of the Finance Management team and support colleagues in Treasury, Credit, AR/ AP, Management Accounts and Tax.
• Support our financial accounting colleagues in Portugal.
• Prepare statutory accounts for Luxembourg & UK registered companies.
• Liaise with external auditors.
• Be part of transformation of Finance team to an outstanding performer.

Person Specification

To be eligible for this vacancy, please ensure you meet the following criteria:

• Enthusiasm and a determination to succeed
• Qualified ACA or equivalent with relevant experience
• Ability to motivate.
• Good Understanding of IAS/IFRS.
• High degree of numeracy and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills.
Advantageous
• Experience of SAP and Microsoft Office, including Excel to macro level.
• Experience of Trading Accounting.
• Understanding of US GAAP

Quality Manager - Heavy Civil Projects 

My client is a well established international contractor with a number of heavy civil projects throughout Africa. They have an immediate requirement for a senior quality manager on this large mining infrastructure project. You will report direct to the Project Director and will run a team of quality engineers.

You must have extensive heavy civils experience and ideally be degree qualified, Portuguese speaking would also be a strong advantage.

To assess and control the level of credit risk on specific remit accounts and to ensure that all customer accounts are accurately and promptly maintained, ensuring the efficient release of orders to maximise sales whilst having regard to the Company credit policy.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Obtain timely relevant customer and financial data to establish criteria for reviewing and setting new and existing customer credit limits to £30k by the Credit Control Team Leader, up to £150k by the Assistant Credit Manager and by the Credit Director International Outdoor Coalition above £150k.

2. Setting up of new customer database and existing customer data changes within JBA.

3. Day to day contact with all relevant/designated outdoor customers and internal coalition divisions to resolve customer queries/issues.

4. Maintaining accounts receivable balances for accounts within his/her specific remits within terms and within credit limits through timely cash collection, including processing of documentary letters of credit. Ensuring issue of reminder letters to coincide with agreed customer settlement terms.

5. Maintaining up to date files by customer regarding actions taken to recover outstanding debts, resolution of queries for review by relevant Credit Control Team Leader, Assistant Credit Manager and Credit Director International Outdoor Coalition.

6. To ensure correct allocation of cash, invoices, credit notes and journals to maintain a reconciled accounts receivable.
