Technical Sales Manager - Metals Fabrication
Our client is a well established UK company specializing in fabrication and welding of heat resistant and corrosion resistant steels and alloys. It is part of a global group producing highly-engineered speciality metal components and assemblies made for the aerospace, petrochemical, nuclear, energy, steel and defence industries.
This role involves global Key Account sales coordination and product support for the UK produced product line, accountable for sales volume and margin. This includes technical and product support to the sales network and clients (for petrochemical markets) and directly to clients (for the oil & gas markets). Two key territories involved are Nordic countries and Brazil.
- Reports hierarchically to Managing Director UK, and functionally to Senior Sales VP, Petrochem & Nuclear Business Unit of the parent group.
- Establishes and executes budget, commercial and technical marketing strategy on his/her product line (O&G and Petro)
- Analyzes inquiries and optimizes offers, in coordination with the Estimating Manager (O&G and Petro) and with the global Offers Team in the various locations (Petro)
- Follows up and negotiates key offers and projects with the different functions (production, supply chain, legal) for O&G clients, and for the Petro markets, in support of the worldwide Sales Network (Internal Sales & Agents) and clients.
- Follows up the execution of major orders, in relation with Project Managers
- Pilots the high level relations and strategy with international key accounts
- Develops and motivates a senior and multicultural agent network, contributes to the management of the Sales and Agent Network
- Prospects new clients and generates new opportunities
- Metrics : Sales Volume, Margin, Payables
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience or understanding of metallurgical products and/or welding and engineering
- Experience selling products or services into the Oil & Gas sector (preferably) or Petrochemical markets.
- Technical background with proven commercial experience of international Key Account management in B2B markets
- Capacity to interact and negotiate with high level management at clients and internally
- Strong leadership skills and capacity to work in a multicultural environment
- Proactive, autonomous, adaptable to SME and corporate environments
